Local fostering agency rated Good by Ofsted

Fostering to Inspire, based in Wakefield, has been rated ‘Good in all areas’ by Ofsted in its first inspection. The independent fostering agency which was registered with Ofsted in October 2017 operates across Yorkshire.

Ofsted praised the agency saying: “The children in placement have quickly built trusted and secure relationships with their foster carers, which is having a positive effect on their lives.” Adding “The children are flourishing because of the care that they receive.”

Ofsted highlighted the improved progress the children are making because of the close working relationships between the carers, the agency and school staff. The report notes that “One child’s behaviour has improved to such an extent that a placement in a mainstream school is now being considered. This demonstrates a significant achievement for him.”

Clare Ferris, Fostering to Inspire registered manager, said:

“Being rated Good confirms that our approach is the right one. It is testimony to the hard work our carers put in to provide the children we look after with stable, loving homes. Ofsted were positive about so many aspects of our service from recruitment and training to safeguarding and management. We have ambitions to grow and expand so that we can help even more children in future.”
