 Prospects Professional Training and Consultancy delivers accredited teacher training programmes for the post-16 Learning and Skills sector, work-based learning, FE, adult education and community-based learning.
Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) is a course for those embarking on a career in teaching in further education, or those who have been working in the sector and require the qualification to move towards qualified teacher status.
The Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) qualification which builds on the PTLLS award is the required qualification for teachers/tutors and assessors in a full teaching role who will be applying for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
Our delivery models include regular group sessions at our training centres across the country; we also provide e-learning through our successful online facility (Virtual Learning Environment) and offer in-house or bespoke training which can be delivered at clients’ premises at their request.

PTLLS + Skills for Life
This PTLLS programme has an additional module and is designed for people who are teaching or would like to teach within the Lifelong Learning Sector and would like to be more confident supporting learners' literacy or numeracy skills, or who may want to progress into teaching literacy or numeracy to adults. It may also be suitable for those who are already teaching Skills for Life but may be very new, or have had little or no teacher training.
PTLLS + Functional Skills
The generic PTLLS course includes a session on how to embed Functional English, Maths and ICT into specialist areas. We have designed this 6-day PTLLS + course for people who would like an in depth introduction to teaching Functional Skills and who wish to increase their confidence supporting learners' Functional Skills and preparing learners for assessment. It is suitable for those who are already teaching but may be very new, or have had little or no teacher training.

SOUTH YORKSHIRE: Funded NVQ qualifications and PTLLS award
PPTC has secured funding from the Enhancement Fund to deliver the following qualifications in the South Yorkshire areas of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield:
- NVQ level 3 in Advice and Guidance
- NVQ level 4 in Advice and Guidance
- Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
