Prospects in the City provide specialist insight into the multitude of careers which exist in the City of London. The service has expanded to include the City of Leeds this year.
The Prospects in the City team have linked with major institutions and employers in the City, such as Lloyd's of London, the Bank of England and Ogilvy’s, to provide interactive, inspirational experiences to young people and educational and careers professionals. The events allow individuals to access first-hand, accurate and up-to-date careers and labour market information, to improve vocational knowledge and raise aspiration.
Prospects in the City products fall into four main categories:
Seminars offer those attending an opportunity to find out about career areas which are traditionally hard to enter. They are delivered by professionals in the field, professional bodies and recent graduates and include Working in Finance, Medicine, IT, Creative Media, TV & Radio, Law, Accountancy, Government and Politics and Travel & Tourism.
City Walks offer the chance to visit exciting institutions in professional career areas based in the City such as banks and trading rooms, colleges of law, law courts and barristers chambers, hospitals, key government offices, design studios and advertising agencies, TV studios and radio stations and IT companies.
Work Experience packages enable students to access organisations which are usually difficult to access and can be tailored to individual interest to include tasters in finance, law, media and IT.
Employer Engagement is a Bespoke service offering professional help with marketing and recruitment for general vacancies, apprenticeship schemes or specialist support such as redundancy counselling for staff.
