Prospects has extensive experience of community and neighbourhood regeneration. Our work has involved engaging with specialist agencies local authorities, employers, schools and colleges not only on training and education initiatives, but also on wider social issues, including major European and Government funded projects.
The Stepping Forward Programme in Kings Norton, Birmingham, is a recent example of Prospects community work.
Advisers worked with many disadvantaged clients, developing outreach services and workshops to assist them to access employment, vocational and non-vocational training.
Working closely with Jobcentre Plus and Bourneville College, advisers helped clients with careers information, advice and guidance, training, CV building, letter writing and interview skills.
The aim of the project was to reduce unemployment levels in the area, with particular emphasis on helping 16-19 year olds, the over 50s, lone parents, and people who have been out of work for more than 26 weeks, or who are from an ethnic minority community, or have health issues.
