New Challenges for Schools – 25/01/10

Since the beginning of September 2009, all schools are being inspected under a new framework which places greater emphasis on leaders at all levels to demonstrate their sustained capacity to improve. This presents several new challenges for schools and increases the demands on staff to provide robust evidence that supports self-evaluation.  To assist schools in preparing for the new framework, Prospects is delivering the series of conferences, which are complemented with bespoke support within individual school settings.

The events equip professionals and provide them with the tools to support school improvement as well as, guidance covering wide ranging subjects to ensure the Ofsted framework requirements are met.

Prospects Career Development events are being held across the country with highly experienced inspectors, consultants and trainers, led by Prospects Education Consultant, Sean O’Toole.  The team of tutors has inspected over a thousand schools and has highly successful track records in supporting a wide range of schools and colleges across the country, in self evaluation and improvement. Prospects offer a full range of consultancy services and provides additional advice and support.  The courses are designed to ensure that the needs of  individual schools are fully considered.

Prospects consultants have considerable experience of senior leadership in a range of school settings across the country, and current, in-depth understanding of the Ofsted inspection framework. They offer expertise in school development and planning, including self evaluation, training for aspiring leaders, research projects, quality learning outcomes and governor training.

We recognise the differing requirements of inner city, urban and rural schools, and meet these using our experience of delivering a wide and diverse range of consultancy projects within very demanding learning environments. Prospects will ensure we meet your expectations and match our support to your needs, including;

  • “Learning Walk” and shared perceptions writing the SEF – telling the story of your school concisely, accurately and persuasively

  • Work trawls – with subject and/or phase leaders

  • Paired observations with head teacher or the senior leadership team, with appropriate training

  • Supporting school INSET, twilight sessions or staff meetings with a range of themes from ‘Sharing today’s findings’ to ‘Preparing for inspection’

  • Speaking with pupils and assisting school surveys, reviewing what pupils have to say about their school and learning

  • Governor training

  • Synchronising self-evaluation and school improvement planning.

Your school may have other priorities and needs; we are always interested to respond to any enquiry and create a bespoke solution to meet them.
