Prospects do their thing for Pudsey
Colleagues from Prospect’s Taunton Head Office and their Work Programme delivery group will be ‘doing their thing’ on Friday 17 November to raise money for BBC’s Children in Need.
This year’s Children in Need theme is ‘do your thing’ and Prospects have decided their thing will be continuous table tennis matches. Prospects have a long history of getting involved with fundraising for Pudsey’s piggy bank and this year will be no exception.
The table tennis courts will be set up outside Boots on Taunton’s main high street from 10am – 4pm and Prospects colleagues and customers, alongside Boots’ staff and customers will be playing table tennis throughout the day. Members of the public are also very welcome to come along and play a match with their friends and family too – for a generous charitable donation of course!
The mayor of Taunton Deane Councillor, Hazel Prior-Sankey, will be joining in the fun along with a number of local employers and stakeholders who work with Prospects supporting the people of Somerset giving expert advice in employment, skills, care and education.
Prospects values are keenly aligned with the work that Children in Need does across the country. Prospects is an employee owned group whose social purpose is to focus on the delivery of services to the public and private sector for individuals at all stages of life. Prospects work focuses on employment and skills, care and support and education and learning for children, young people and adults.
Tim Curtis, Team Leader for Prospects Employment & Training in Taunton, said: “Prospects’ team down here in Taunton work extremely hard for our customers across the county, transforming lives and improving communities. Children in Need is their chance to let their hair down, have some fun, at the same time as giving back and raising money for a really worthwhile cause. Many of our customers have also helped to organise this year’s events and will be joining us on the day to raise even money. We hope to see you there!”
Prospects staff will be wearing t-shirts and walking around Taunton on Friday 17 with collection buckets and there will also be a hamper of goodies which you can win in a raffle draw on the day.
BBC’s Children in Need takes place on Friday 17 November 2017 with fundraising events and activities happening nationwide.
