SkillsCymru Llandudno starts tomorrow

03 October 2017

Come and try your hand at catering, design, construction, plumbing, welding, coding, science and much more at SkillsCymru 2017.

On Wednesday 4 October SkillsCymru will be back in Llandudno for the fourth year! As THE careers, jobs, skills and apprenticeship events for Wales, SkillsCymru will provide you with access to employers, colleges, universities and training providers all for free. So whatever you want to do in the future, this event will help you take the first step into finding your dream career.

Recent research by the The Prince’s Trust and HSBC have highlighted that students and their teachers feel that school doesn’t prepare young people for the transition to the workplace.

The Results for Life report revealed that 27 per cent of teachers think that their students don’t yet have all the soft skills required to do well after school, with almost half of young people who were asked (43%) feeling unprepared to enter the workforce, with many worried they lack the confidence and skills to succeed.

The SkillsCymru series of events provides young people with the opportunity to prepare themselves for their future by helping them to think about the variety of options available to them. The events also help parents and teachers by giving them access to the resources they need to support their young people.

Come along for free to Venue Cymru, Llandudno on Wednesday 4 October 5:00pm-7:00pm or Thursday 5 October 9:30am - 3:00pm and meet a whole host of exhibitors including ALDI, Arts Council of Wales, British Army, Cambrian Training, CGI, CITB, Coleg Cambria, Discover Teaching, Network Rail, NHS Wales, Grwp Llandrillo Menai, Higher Education in Wales, Horizon Nuclear Power, Ship Safe Training Group Ltd, Tasty Careers, Wales & West Utilities and many more.
