PR Apprentice visits local school
Prospects PR apprentice, Jasmin Cruickshank based in Taunton, is also an apprenticeship ambassador for the National Careers Service. Jasmin and five other engineering apprentices took part in a question and answer session with sixth form students at a school in Bristol.
The session aimed to provide the students with information about apprenticeships and why they might choose an apprenticeship route instead of going to university. The six apprentices talked about what it was like on the programme, why they enjoy it and shared their experiences with the students who were unsure what they wanted to do after finishing A levels.
Students got a very clear picture of what an apprenticeship entails from apprentices who had only recently been in the same situation and could provide a real and honest experience which the students could relate to. As a result, the school reported many of the students were interested in apprenticeships following the session and talked about their options.
