First event a great success
Visitors were blown away by the first National Career Guidance Show of the 2017 series. The Leicester event, which took place during Storm Doris, was a resounding success with visitors attending from across the region. The visitors ranged from career coordinators in schools to advisers working in prisons and senior career service managers. All welcomed the opportunity to meet up with colleagues working across the sector and make vital connections.

For many careers guidance professionals this time away from the office is a valuable resource enabling them to recharge their knowledge banks and equip themselves with the latest information for the year ahead.

The Prospects stand offered visitors an opportunity to explore many of the careers resources available from Prospects Education Resources and talk to experts about the Quality Award Prospects offers. In addition, many visitors enjoyed talking to the volunteer personal advisers and mentors who helped staff the stand about what Prospects can offer in the local area.

One visitor from HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire, who had spent almost four hours battling the storms to reach the National Career Guidance Show, commented it had: “all been worthwhile” as the Prospects team provided her with information about careers support in custody.

The National Career Guidance Show series continues in London on 1 March and Leeds on 9 March. To find out more visit www.nationalcareerguidanceshow.com.
