More than 100 jobseekers in Somerset find work in October thanks to Prospects
Prospects Work Programme team in Somerset is celebrating; more than 100 of their customers started work in October alone!Somerset is a mainly rural county; this makes the teams' achievement even more outstanding as customers face more barriers to work e.g. poor public transport makes travel to available jobs difficult.
During October, customers started in work ranging from self-employed holistic therapy through seamstresses, care assistants to yoghurt tasters!
Taunton Deane MP, Jeremy Browne, pictured above on the right with a Work Programme customer, celebrated the success by visiting Prospects Work Programme Taunton centre to meet customers and take part in job search and drama sessions.
Shona Howes, Somerset Team Manager, said, "I'm delighted with the team. Their hard work has helped more than 100 people to find a job and move on with their lives. Prospects Ascent programme is personalised to enable individual jobseekers to gain the confidence, skills and experience they need to sustain a job once they have found work; this is a key tenet of the Work Programme. We won't rest on our laurels; we will continue to support each customer to find long term employment."
Nicola Squibb, Operations Director, said, "The Somerset team has performed really well in October; the feedback from customers has been really positive about their support in finding employment."
