Prospects takes part in MENA region British Council event
Marlena Topple, a Projects Manager at Prospects, recently presented at a Skills and Higher Education conference organised by the British Council for staff based in the 17 countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Other external speakers included Peter Forbes, Director of Employability Works and Jonathan Ledger, Managing Director at the National Skills Academy.
The aim of the meeting was for delegates to identify ideas for development projects for next year to put into their individual country's plans. Marlena's role was to talk about the positive impact that careers education and guidance can make in relation to reducing unemployment, meeting the skills needs of employers and reducing the number of people who do not complete post 16 courses. She also gave an overview of Prospects' experience and expertise as well as offering some project ideas designed to tackle some of the labour market-related issues faced by some of the MENA countries.
