Prospects Academies Trust (PAT) — best ever GCSE results
Students at PAT Academies have achieved very good GCSE results this year. Each of the three secondary Academies' results met the 2015 'floor target' of at least 50% of students gaining five A*–C GCSEs including English and Maths.
Paignton Sports and Community Academy students achieved the school's best ever results; 87% of students gained five or more GCSEs graded A*–C. Paignton's post–-16 students' results were also very good, with top grades in A–level subjects including Law, Psychology, Religious Studies and English Literature
. Principal, Jane English, said, "Academic achievement in the Academy improves year on year ; my congratulations go to our pupils who have worked very hard indeed to secure these results."
Bexhill High students also achieved the best ever results in the history of the school; 80% received five or more GCSEs graded A*–C. Delighted with the results, Interim Principal, Andy Mortimer, said, "These results are evidence of the hard work and commitment put in by so many different people - students, staff, parents/ carers and governors — over the last 12 months."
Students at the Dean Academy also performed well; 82% were awarded A*–C grades in five or more GCSEs. Commenting on the first GCSE results awarded since the creation of the Academy Principal, David Gaston, said, "We have increased grades in so many subjects; this gives Dean Academy a great start."
