South West Launches Inspiring Employer Award
The National Careers Service in the South West Inspiration Team has launched an Inspiring Employer Award, which recognises employers that provide good career activities for local schools. The award will be presented on a quarterly basis, and Santander is the inaugural recipient.
Prospects is the prime provider for the National Careers Service in London, the South West, the Midlands and in South Yorkshire as part of the Careers Yorkshire and the Humber Consortium. The National Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance for jobseekers and those in work aged 18 and older to help them manage their career and progress into learning, training and employment. The Inspiration Agenda inspires young people about the world of work, by building relationships between education establishments and employers.
Santander supported the Inspiration Agenda after meeting Partnership Manager, Jo Skeel, in August 2015. Since then Santander has offered excellent school events, including careers fairs, dragon’s den style activities, employability workshops and mock interviews. Santander staff are always friendly and approachable, offering students first rate careers advice. Local branch staff often attend activities, helping them to build strong relationships with schools and spot talented students that could have bright futures with Santander.
Lisa Ward, Santander Customer Implementation Manager, said: “We are delighted to have had such amazing opportunities to work with schools and colleges in our local communities, allowing us to make a difference and to touch so many young people’s lives. Through this programme we have built some fantastic relationships and would like to thank Jo and the team for allowing us to be part of such an inspirational and exciting programme and assist us with our purpose, to help people and businesses prosper.”
Santander offers Work Experience, Internships, Graduate Programmes and Apprenticeships (including a degree Apprenticeships). The Inspiration Agenda team work in partnership with Santander to promote their excellent career routes for young people.
