As 2016 begins, Prospects is looking back over 2015 and sharing some key successes. Each day, over the next week or so, as part of #lookback2015 you can read about Prospects achievements last year and gain insight into plans for 2016.
South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre
had another successful year and welcome hundreds of visitors to its open days throughout the year. Today #lookback2015 focuses on South Cerney’s Open Day in May which was attended by more than 600 people
South Cerney Outdoor became part of the Prospects Group in 2012 when the site was acquired from Gloucestershire County Council. Based in the Cotswold Water Park between Cirencester and Swindon, the centre creates outdoor experiences that inspire stories of challenge, growth and adventure for individuals, couples, families and groups.
South Cerney Outdoor hosted its annual May Open Day on Monday 4 May. The event gave visitors the chance to try all activities available at the centre, including archery, canoe tours, kayaking, Kata Kanus (a type of boating), power boat rides, sailing trips, stand up paddling racing. There was competitions, including a themed fancy dress competition marking National Star Wars Day (May the 4th be with you). Refreshments including a hog roast and barbeque provided by Jessie Smith’s, and caffeine and cake by Mmm Coffee were available.
The day was full of fun and laughter. The event led South Cerney Outdoor to receive several group booking enquiries, 10 tipi booking enquiries and interest in the different courses run at the centre.
