Prospects attends LGA Conference

30 June 2015

LGA Annual Conference 2015This morning, 30 June, sees the start of the Local Government Association Annual Conference in Harrogate. The conference is the biggest event in the local government calendar and is also one of the most well-attended political conferences of the year, attracting more than 1,200 delegates, including many Prospects colleagues.

The 2015 annual conference takes place halfway through the new Conservative government’s first 100 days of office. Delegates will be debating and considering how far the calls for greater local powers and devolution have come since Scotland's historic vote in 2014, the general election, and the move towards the Northern Powerhouse.

Prospects are hosting a stand at the event and will be informing visitors about the work we do inspiring more than 500,000 young people and adults to develop their potential each year. The conference welcomes council leaders and chief executives, senior officers, lead members and policy makers across all services provided by local authorities and is an excellent opportunity for Prospects to network with these key commissioning influencers.

Nick Bell speaking from the conference said “We are here at the LGA conference to build awareness of Prospects and how we can help local government deliver a spectrum of services. It is the perfect forum to promote our expertise, our staff and our commitment to providing innovative delivery for our partners and future partners across local government.”

The conference features speeches by politicians from across the spectrum and local authority experts.
