Prospects Business Support contract success
Last week, it was announced that Prospects Business Support (formerly known as South London Business) has won a contract to provide procurement and supply chain business support services in Southwark.
The contract, called 'Supply Southwark', is worth £120,000, and will run over 20 months to support 100 Southwark small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to win contracts to the value of £3 million.
Prospects Business Support will provide a wide range of services to help take businesses through any of the stages required to win contracts including competitor analysis, pricing, pitching, advice for creating action plans, and holding workshops about the tender process. The team will provide hands on, one-to-one intensive support where necessary, and encourage the business to work in partnership with other businesses if their own organisation is not large enough. They will also facilitate new relationships between SMEs and large buyers, one of whom will be Prospects, by organising a number of 'meet the buyer' events.
Prospects Business Support will, create 25 jobs, of which a minimum of 13 will be sourced through Southwark Council's 'Southwark Works' programme, a team of specialist employment advisers who support unemployed residents to find a job.
Rose Saunders, Head of Business Support and Engagement, said, "We are very excited to win this contract and looking forward to working with the council to achieve its objectives within its Economic Wellbeing Strategy, to make the borough 'a place of choice to start and grow a business' and develop 'thriving town centres and high streets' by delivering 'Supply Southwark' successfully, and embedding sustainable growth within the 100 SMEs supported."
