#Prospects2014: Education

18 December 2014

During 2014, Prospects worked with more than 3,000 schools and academies each year. We offer an extensive range of high quality educational support services across all Key Stages, including careers advice, curriculum development, school improvement, training, events, educational resources and engaging with parents and families. Our education services are tailored to the individual requirements of each school, academy or college.

Prospects Improve launched its new primary curriculum in September, Prospectus, in response to the new national curriculum for England which came into effect this academic year. The creative and thematic programme helps schools implement the changes to the national curriculum, and was shortlisted for the ‘Education content provider’ category in the Education Investor Awards 2014. It has been developed by teachers with an emphasis on giving them time to teach, by providing a holistic package with resources for successful lessons and planning. Through the new Prospectus curriculum website, schools can view, download and personalise all resources.

Prospects offers the Quality Award in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG), a nationally validated accreditation which recognises good practice, and encourages development of quality careers programmes. During 2014, 10 schools and colleges in the West Midlands and South Yorkshire celebrated their awards (including three achieving the highest Gold Level accolade). Prospects is currently working with more than 65 schools, colleges and smaller units who either hold, or are working towards this specialist CEIAG award. Find out more about the Quality Awards.

In Wales, Prospects leads a consortium which provides the Youth Entrepreneurship Services (YES) in primary and secondary schools. The project targets children and young people with a range of innovative activities, to increase awareness of entrepreneurship and raise aspirations in Wales. This year we’ve worked with more than 1,600 schools.
