#Prospects2014: Skills Events
Over the next two weeks or so, in the lead up to the end of the year, Prospects is going to look back at this year’s highlights. Today we’re sharing some of the best bits of the Skills Events, managed by the Prospects’ Events Team.
Across England, Wales and Scotland, Prospects Events provides interactive events which inspire young people with the wide range of career and training opportunities available to them both locally and nationally.
2014 culminated with Skills London 2014 in November, London’s biggest jobs and careers event for 15-24 year olds and their families. A highly successful event, Skills London 2014 featured more than 45,000 job opportunities, including Apprenticeships, and 196 exhibitors from top employers, colleges and training providers. The 32,490 visitors learned about potential careers and training opportunities by speaking with exhibitors and participating in work-related activities, including motor vehicle maintenance, DJing, 3D printing, cake decorating, bricklaying, movie making and code breaking.
All careers and skills events which are organised by Prospects Events give visitors the opportunity to take part in interactive, hands-on activities. Young people considering their career path have the chance to speak to a variety of employers and those working in the vast array of industries represented at the event. These events provide young people with a unique insight into the world of work and the types of careers and training opportunities across many sectors.
