Square Mile jobs Launch
Square Mile Jobs will be launched officially on 9th May at the City of London offices. This new programme, delivered by Prospects in the City, will help unemployed residents from boroughs on the fringe of the City to access opportunities in the Square Mile. The launch will be attended by representatives from local government, employment support agencies, City employers, colleges, training providers, universities, charities and Prospects in the City colleagues.
Katie Mawhinney, Manager of Prospects in the City, said, "I am delighted to start work on this exciting new project, which will help residents from less prosperous parts of London share in the success of the City by finding new job opportunities."
Funded by the City of London and London Councils European Social Fund Co-Financing Programme, Square Mile Jobs will support more than 200 participants, aged 18 to 65, with one to one advice on working in the City, information on what employers want, work tasters and access to sustainable jobs with peer mentoring.
