PRESS RELEASE:Oliver Letwin MP meets jobseekers supported by the Work Programme
Oliver Letwin, MP for West Dorset, visited the office of Prospects, the education, employment and training company, which runs the Work Programme in the South West. Mr Letwin saw
first-hand the difference the support is making to increasing employment in the county.
Prospects staff told Mr Letwin about the rewarding nature of their work and the innovative solutions they had developed for the Work Programme.
Graham Faint, Prospects Operations Manager, said:
“I am delighted Mr. Letwin has been able to join us today. We are working with 16,000 jobseekers across the South West to help them return to work, training or education. We have developed the innovative Ascent Programme which provides personalised support for each customer to overcome their individual barriers to finding work as well as addressing unemployment problems specific to the South West such as lack of available public transport and seasonal employment.”

“It has been great to see so many constituents who are being supported by the Work Programme and see the activities which are making a positive difference, giving them the skills and confidence to find a job."
