Pick up more than a bargain at The Mall
The National Careers Service South West team have been supporting shoppers at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway during the Summer Holidays. Shoppers were offered free support to help improve their career and during 31 July – 4 August, 113 customers were helped to take the next step.
The team also worked with restaurants including Nandos and Chiquito as well as retailers such as Karen Millen, Oasis and Topman, to fill job roles such as Merchandiser, Personal Assistance, Grill Chef and Waiting Staff.
Every customer completed a personality and career diagnostic check and the team worked with shoppers to develop a clear and achievable career plan, create CVs, prepare for interviews and support in accessing the right training and learning. Management from KFC also made use of the service, entering into discussions around working with their entry level staff to improve their skills in areas such as customer service and selling skills.
Jonathan Jefferies, Team Manager said “The National Careers Service is here to help by offering you personalised support from qualified advisers, who can help you overcome hurdles that are holding you back from boosting your career. We will be on hand in subsequent weeks at The Mall to guide shoppers who need careers advice and information."
