Milton Keynes MPs jobs fair
Prospects staff recently worked in partnership with local MPs, Iain Stewart and Mark Lancaster, and local businesses, to organise a Jobs Fair for young people aged 16–25 in Milton Keynes. The city's youngsters flocked to the Buszy where they could search for jobs and apprenticeship opportunities. The event was opened by the Apprentice star, Katie Wright, and promoted on local radio and in newspapers. NEET young people were targeted with letters, Twitter feeds and Facebook alerts. Around 40 local employers and training providers attended, including Home Retail Group, Santander, Niftylift, Network Rail and John Lewis Partnership.
Over 200 young people came to the event and it was a great opportunity for employers and training providers to meet young people looking for work or training in an informal environment.
Prospects is currently working in partnership with the National Apprenticeship Service to organise a 'have a go event', at the start of Apprenticeship Week 2013, which will be held at the MK Dons Stadium on Monday 11th March 2013.
