EOA Conference is Prospects most successful to date
The annual Employee Ownership Association (EOA) conference took place this week (Monday 21-Tuesday 22 November). This is fourth year Prospects Events has delivered the annual conference, growing it from 420 delegates in 2013 to a record 640 in 2016. Six Prospects Employee Council members attended.
Prospects was one of the first and largest public sector mutuals, where colleagues are able to become shareholders. Currently more than 800 employees and past employees are shareholders in Prospects, with all current colleagues having a stake in our future through the Employee Trust. In addition, the Employee Council (EC) was founded a year ago, providing representation for all employees, and is a link to the Board, Executive Leadership Team, managers and employees. The EC members consult colleagues regularly across the Group, and act as the employee voice to help shape the future of Prospects.
The conference brought together employee owned organisations from across the world to share ideas, learn from others and celebrate employee ownership. It featured workshops, speed-dating sessions, masterclasses and presentations. The Prospects Employee Council members left inspired.
Helun Jones, chair of Prospects Employee Council, said: “Many of the topics at the conference including engagement, celebrating success, governance and ownership are areas we as the Council regularly grapple with. It was worth attending and learning from others in the same position as us, but with different perspectives and experiences.”
