Brenda Cabras has been with Prospects from the early days, joining the company in 1997, and has had a number of operational and corporate roles during that time.
Now as Director of Employment and Skills, Brenda leads a Directorate of more than 300 staff with contracts worth more than £30m a year.
The Directorate is responsible for delivering the Department for Work and Pensions Work Programme as Prime Contractor for the South West and as a sub-contractor in East London and Bristol. Brenda is a member of the National Work Programme Partnership Forum, member of the CBI Welfare to Work Panel, and a member of Employment Related Services Association forums.
Prospects Professional Training operates within the Directorate to provide training for the group's staff. It also offers external training and accreditation in a wide number of professional areas.
Brenda leads the company in its role as the largest provider of adult careers advice in England, delivering National Careers Service contracts across the country. Prospects is the Prime Contractor for the National Careers Service in London, South West and West Midlands. Prospects is also a partner in Careers Yorkshire and the Humber. Brenda is a board member of Careers Yorkshire and the Humber, a joint venture company delivering the National Careers Service in the region. She is a member of the National Careers Service Advisory Group and is also responsible for our National Careers Service contract to work with offenders in all 36 prisons in London, South West, West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber.
Brenda is a governor of a large comprehensive school in Essex and Chair of its Student Committee. She holds a BA (Hons) degree in Geography from Queen Mary & Westfield, University of London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance. Brenda has been a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts since 2008.
