Prospects and Optimus Education host visitors from Korea
Recognised as world leaders in education, South Korea is ranked number one in Pisa tests for maths. Earlier this month researchers from South Korea visited Optimus Education, part of the Prospects Group, to learn about careers education practice.
Researchers from KRIVET the (Korean Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training) visited Optimus Education’s offices earlier this month meeting with members from across the Prospects Group. The aim of the visit was to learn more from us about best practice in careers education. Andrew Thraves, Prospects Education, John Hutchison, Gabbitas, and Sarah Marshall, Optimus Education hosted the visit, so the meeting was truly cross-group. The team spent time answering KRIVET’s questions as well as showcasing in particular the Prospects Quality Award in CEIAG, Gabbitas’ work overseas in careers education, and the comprehensive advice and guidance about implementing successful in-school careers education strategies available on Optimus Education’s ‘Knowledge Centre’.
Researcher, Chanju Moon from KRIVET, thanked colleagues for their help and insight, which he and his team hope will provide practical examples to inform careers education practice in the South Korean secondary education phase.
