Paul Baldwin was appointed as a trustee of Shaw Trust in February 2016 and is currently pursuing a portfolio career working with a select number of charitable organisations across a range of different sectors. Paul is also Chair of the Finance Committee for World Animal Protection, Trustee of the Gorilla Organization and a Trustee of First Rung Ltd, a North London-based charity that provides vocational training and work-experience opportunities to young people. Prior to the merger between Shaw Trust and the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) Paul served as Chair of the DLF Board.
Paul has nearly 20 years’ experience of the banking industry, working for UBS, Kleinwort Benson, Goldman Sachs, and HSBC. Whilst working at HSBC, Paul led a team of 65 across 10 different countries developing financial risk management products for large corporate and institutional clients. Prior to banking, Paul worked as a Management Consultant with The LEK Partnership, and within the Strategy and Planning sector for a large manufacturing business.
Paul has a passion for skiing and is a BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors) qualified instructor for both Alpine and Adaptive skiing, as well as a Volunteer Instructor and Treasurer for an Aldershot-based Disabled Snowsports club. Paul has a degree in Engineering from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University and an M.B.A from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
