Prospects, the largest provider of careers advice the country, welcomes London’s Ambitions Programme. The programme brings the Mayor’s 2020 vision closer and strives to ensure that all young Londoners are actively participating in education, employment or training.
London Ambitions will provide young people with the knowledge and skills they need to secure jobs through effective education and training. It will ensure that the same education and training provides businesses and employers in London with a workforce equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to enable them to thrive and compete in a global market.
This programme, produced by the London Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), is important as it guarantees all young Londoners have access to real valuable work experience and face to face advice. Relevant labour market information will form a fundamental part of the programme enabling young people to better understand the world of work.
Young people will benefit by gaining the skills and experience they need to compete for jobs in London, schools and colleges will better prepare their students for work and London businesses will see benefits as they recruit the talent and skills they need.
Brenda Cabras, Prospects Director of Employment and Skills commented: “London Ambitions puts a spotlight on careers education and advice for young people and opens up the many potential horizons. This programme will better equip young people in London to prepare for their working lives and enable them to see the opportunities that this great city offers.
Brenda further added Prospects’ commitment to the programme: “As an employer Prospects will ensure it makes a significant contribution to the London Ambitions offer.”
