The education, employment and training company, Prospects has appointed Nick Bell, currently Chief Executive of Staffordshire County Council, as Chief Executive. Nick will join the Group in October 2014.
Prior to joining Staffordshire County Council, Nick was Deputy Chief Executive of Essex County Council and has worked in local government for the past 20 years. He has previously held senior roles at Westminster City Council, Bedfordshire County Council, the London Borough of Harrow and Cambridgeshire County Council. Nick also has experience in the private sector and has developed a number of innovative, more commercial models of delivering public services. Nick brings his extensive experience of leading local authorities along with his commercial know-how to his role at Prospects where he will lead the Group as it continues to grow.
The Prospects Group provides education, employment and training services in the UK and internationally. Working in partnership with government departments, local authorities and other organisations, Prospects provides a number of Government flagship programmes including the Work Programme, as prime contractor in the South West and a major subcontractor in London and Bristol; the Youth Contract, support for 16-17 year old NEET young people in London, the West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber and Ofsted Early Years Inspection Services across the Midlands and North of England. Prospects recently retained the London National Careers Service contract and also expanded its coverage to include provision of the service in South West and West Midlands, all as prime contractor. As part of the Careers Yorkshire and Humber consortium Prospects will also continue to provide the National Careers Service in South Yorkshire.
