Careers advisers inspire young people and adults by helping them understand the careers, training and other opportunities available.  To help Somerset residents, the National Careers Service is working with Somerset County Council and held a day at Cannington Court, EDF Energy’s base, enabling more than 20 careers advisers to hear from industry experts, have a tour around Hinkley Point C and find out more about the new careers strategy and apprenticeships.

On 25 May this year, data protection laws are changing. The Data Protection Act will be replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), bringing changes to the way every organisation processes and handles data and information.

On 22 February, ExFor+ C.I.C. will be officially launched in the Houses of Parliament. The organisation, supported by Prospects, was started by former Royal Marine and Prospects employee, Simon Adams to help wounded veterans returning to civilian life and employment.

Peter was convicted while he was retraining to be an electrician. Halfway through his training, Peter was concerned his qualifications would become invalid if he did not complete the course.

Andrew met with the National Careers Service In Custody when his circumstances changed.  He decided he had to re-evaluate his situation and look at ways to gain skills that he could use in the future as well as maintaining his work ethic.
