Gloria Smith receives praise from DWP
Prospects works closely in partnership with the Department of Work & Pensions in Birmingham, developing a trusting relationship which brings benefits to both parties. Recently we asked Antonina Robinson, the Think Family Lead in Birmingham for the DWP, to share her thoughts about working with Prospects. Antonina was full of praise for Gloria Smith’s work and the Inspiration Agenda Team who work as part of the National Careers Service in the West Midlands.
Antonina said: “I lead DWP Jobcentre Support for Schools in Birmingham and Solihull District. Our mission is to prevent school leavers becoming NEET. We are engaging pupils, their parents and teachers with employment and employability skills. This work has been superbly supported by our partnership with Gloria Smith and her team.
“Gloria generously shared her extensive knowledge and impeccable products with me and mine – then ‘new kids’ in the world of Employment Advice to Schools. Her invaluable leadership, superb strategic overview and employer networking, enabled us in Birmingham and Solihull to stream line co-operative working within schools. I am extremely proud of our achievements together in the last 18 months. Gloria and her Inspiration team work hand in glove with me, my team and Careers Enterprise Company. This has enabled us all to deliver the best service to pupils who have challenging back grounds, Looked After Children, Excluded Pupils, SEN pupils.
“Inspiration’s LMI products are the Diamond standard and we do not ‘re-invent the wheel – they are part of our tool box. It is exciting and fulfilling working with Gloria- together we are forging dynamic and innovative pathways for pupils and teachers. This joined up approach means we work SMART and employers gain access to young people in a fresh, innovative and cost effective way – that inspires the employees of the future.”
