Moving Forward Case Study— Susan*

Susan, 47, from Plumstead came to Moving Forward after being finding herself unemployed twice in two years. Susan had previously worked for the Metropolitan Police in Traffic Management and at an Intelligence Unit. After being made redundant she joined South Eastern as Duty Station Manager but found herself unemployed again in late 2012.

When Susan joined Moving Forward in March 2013, she was looking for admin or reception work. Her Moving Forward Adviser helped her practically with updating her CV and advice on interview techniques. Susan’s Adviser also supported her by keeping her positive, motivated and boosting her confidence.

Susan said:
“Through Moving Forward I have met some amazing people, who made me feel cared for and understood what I was going through. Moving Forward staff have helped me stay motivated, gave me more confidence to go forward and approach interviews in a different way. I have attended numerous interviews since joining Moving Forward and will soon be starting work as an Admin for Intergrated water services. I have a clearer idea of where I want to be and how to get there. At the moment my aim is to enjoy and be happy in my new employment. I appreciate the help of the Moving Forward team a lot!”
